Young Author's Workshop
Every year at school in Language Arts, we do a Young Author's Project, where the students create a published piece after following the basic steps of the writing process. This website listed below has some great resources for any type of writing projects in any subject area. Beginning with Ideas and ending with Publishing, each step of the writing process that you click on will bring you to pages and pages of writing tips, FAQ's, ideas, interactive writing sites, writing centers, advice columns, and so much more. It really is such a limitless site, with tons of useful information that is kid friendly and fun. We all know how hard it is to make writing enjoyable for students! Try it out and let me know what you think!

4-square writing has worked wonders for my very young students. You will find a lot of info. on the web. Look for some next week on my blog.

Ditto about the 4-square approach. It really has helped them organize and flesh out ideas.
